Product Details

The BCP-611 is designed to make conducted current measurements without making direct contact with the source conductor or metallic surface. It has a usable frequency range of 10 KHz to 150 MHz with a constant transfer impedance of 1 ohm from 1 MHz to 80 MHz. This flat response makes for an easy interpretation of spectrum analyzer or receiver reading in dBV to conducted emission limit in dBA. Another application of a constant transfer impedance is the ability to make useful time domain measurements i.e. oscilloscope traces of current waveform. This is extremely useful where pulsed current must be measured, as in inrush current measurements.

With a 1.25” aperture, the BCP-611 current probe can easily measure most power cables and wire bundles carrying up to 4 amps. Core saturation can occur if the 60 Hz, 400Hz power line or CW limits are exceeded. For those cases where for an increased current capability then consider the BCP-615 or when a larger aperture is required consider the BCP-614.

For ease and convenience of performing conducted measurements, all of our current probes utilize the split type clamp-on design. Small and lightweight, each Current Probe is manufactured to exacting standards, thus insuring repeatable performance.
