Recommended Antenna Maintenance

While it is not necessary before each test, these maintenance measures go a long way. Not only will they keep critical features in working order, they can also help protect and extend the life of your antenna. We are here to offer a helping hand with these maintenance tips:

   Find a way to log what you do and when, so you know when a certain task is due.
   Visual inspection of the RF connector Pin depth and pin condition.
   Check for bent or loose elements.
   Check for loose or missing hardware.
   Damage during storage. Small issues not discovered during long-term storage can become bigger ones.
   Cleaning: It's a good idea at least once a month to wipe down the antenna with a damp rag.
   Apply a gentle lubricant to the outside threads of the RF connector.
   Regular antenna calibration intervals is highly recommended to ensure repeatable, reliable data.

Recommended verification for improved antenna performance
Of course, it doesn't hurt to perform any of these tasks more frequently, but once or twice a year will typically be enough. Reference your A.H. Systems owner's manual for proper maintenance procedures for your particular model.
